QSFP+ an evolution of QSFP, also named as Quad SFP, because QSFP can carry 4 channels simultaneously and each channel can reach speeds of 10 Gbps per line. And the 4 channels can be combined into a single 40 Gigabit Ethernet link. To achieve the migration to a 40GbE network, we may convert from QSFP port to SFP+ port.
The Quad SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) QSFP specification is based on the SFF-8665, SFF-8679 and OIF CEI v3.1 standards.
